Spanish Skateboarding Team in the Pre-Olympic Phase.

CR

Spain advances to the pre-Olympic phase of skateboarding after shining in Dubai!

Spanish Skateboard Team | A Ceci Rules Story.

For those who know me, you know I love to skate, and I want to share some crazy news, an incredible moment for me and my teammates on the national skateboarding team. After finishing the last event of phase one of the Olympic qualifying rounds where the Spanish team achieved a historic double, with Danny León and Naila Laso both winning gold!!! This places us as a team in a very, very good position.

All 8 male and female skaters have made it into the top 44…

But that’s not all, because this week the ranking of the 44 skaters advancing to the next phase was published. The list of skaters entering the second qualifying phase for Paris 2024, and we all made it in! Yes! All 8 male and female skaters have made it into the top 44, which takes us directly to the final phase before the 2024 Olympics.

Pre-Olympic Phase Spanish Skateboard National Team

Over the next few months, we will have the opportunity to represent our national skateboarding in the last two qualifying events in the city of Shanghai (China) in May and in Hungary, specifically Budapest, in June. These final events will be super important as each of them will represent 33%, meaning that Olympic spots will be decided in this final phase.

In my case, with little experience in world championships, where I have participated in two out of four in just six months, it’s something that has hit me all at once and I still find it hard to believe. Just being selected for the World Championships in Rome and the last World Skate Tour in Dubai have been the best moments of my life… making it to the final round is just mind-blowing.

The journey to get here hasn’t been easy

Obviously, the journey to get here hasn’t been easy. I’ve been facing challenges, making sacrifices, and experiencing moments of doubt for years, constantly traveling to skateparks to improve with dedication… but skateboarding has brought me here, and I’m eager to continue facing whatever is necessary to at least dream of #Paris2024.

My father taught me from a young age to be grateful, and I thank my coach Jany, my physical trainer David, the brands that have believed in me since I first stepped on a skateboard like Jaime’s work… you all are part of this new adventure.

Congratulations to that #teamSpain for the results we’ve achieved and for what we’re going to achieve as the national Skateboard team.
